Most bros are not perfect and will need one to three bandaid perks to make them serviceable. Once you hit safe thresholds don't be afraid to take bad rolls in the holy trinity of stats, as they will be more efficient even if you are netting less over all points. Don't sweat it, use that to grab secondary stats you need to get to safe thresholds. Odds are one or two of these will be poor rolls. Unless a character has a bad stat they really need to patch up fast? A Melee guy wants Melee > Melee Defense > Fatigue (Ranged, Ranged Defense for archers of course) at every possible opportunity. Your back row can get away with 60-70 HP, your frontline wants 70. The back row can afford to get it into the 40s and then bring it to 50 in veteran levels. You want at least 50 resolve on most of your guys. Most people take it late, but there are advantages to taking it early (Such as spamming a Flail's lash attack to steal bandit armor.) Almost every bro wants the 'Recover' perk at some point. The exception is nimble builds who want to level HP every chance they get and perhaps some variations of battleforged taunt characters. HP: 60-70 ish on the back line, 70 on the frontline. Well, to understand perks you need to understand stats!
